Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antony Bernard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alvins Burunduks!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burunduks tries to avoid it but Bernard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burunduks to the ground. Burunduks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Burunduks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Burunduks is trying to force a seperation but Bernard has the dominant position.
Burunduks misses with the head strike.
Bernard slows down the pace here.
Stalling in the clinch from Bernard.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burunduks pulls guard effortlessly.
Burunduks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bernard's guard.

Burunduks pushes down on Bernard's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Burunduks is controlling the pace.

Burunduks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bernard doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Burunduks.
Burunduks content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bernard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Burunduks wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Bernard uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Burunduks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Burunduks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Burunduks postures up in Bernard's guard and throws a big left but Bernard blocks it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Burunduks slips a nice elbow through Bernard's hands, connecting with Bernard's forehead.

Burunduks prevents Bernard from improving his position.
Burunduks wants to free his trapped foot but Bernard is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Burunduks is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Burunduks shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bernard's guard.

Bernard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Burunduks is in close to Bernard's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bernard looking to control but Burunduks passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Burunduks in particular looking to stall.

Burunduks is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Bernard trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burunduks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burunduks controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Burunduks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bernard is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burunduks lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Burunduks engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Burunduks is in close to Bernard's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Burunduks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Burunduks keeps trying to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Burunduks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Burunduks manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bernard on his heels. He'll look to pass Bernard's guard now, I'm sure.

Burunduks wants to stand and escape but instead Bernard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Bernard is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Burunduks is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Burunduks has escaped and now he's on top!

Bernard looking for subs off his back but Burunduks has passed one foot through into half guard.
Burunduks wants to free his trapped foot but Bernard is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvins Burunduks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Burunduks scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bernard looks for a takedown but Burunduks sprawls well.
Burunduks tries to counter by closing the distance.

Burunduks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bernard napping and manages to drive through into side control!


Bernard is rocked!
Bernard takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Oh Bernard is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Burunduks is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bernard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Burunduks has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Burunduks is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Bernard is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Bernard flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Burunduks anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Bernard and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Burunduks slips an arm under Bernard chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Burunduks has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Burunduks is squeezing on Bernard like an anaconda would it's prey. Bernard fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alvins Burunduks!
Our winner, Alvins Burunduks, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
