Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aly Magomedov (ranked 23267 p4p, 569 weight class) and Xyryx Ignacio (ranked 3697 p4p, 402 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Magomedov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Aly Intro RUN!. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aly Magomedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Xyryx Ignacio!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedov moves into the clinch.
Ignacio manages to break the clinch.
Magomedov clinches up with Ignacio and pushes him back against the cage.
Magomedov tries to throw a body punch but Ignacio avoids it by throwing Magomedov back against the cage.
Magomedov lands with a left to the head.
I was talking to Magomedov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Magomedov blocks an elbow strike from Ignacio.
Magomedov has Ignacio pushed against the cage.
Magomedov takes a knee to the side of the body.
Magomedov manages to pull guard.
Ignacio pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Magomedov is keeping the position for now.
Ignacio prevents Magomedov from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ignacio with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ignacio slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ignacio throws an elbow that misses. Magomedov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ignacio's guard. Nice move by Magomedov!
Ignacio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magomedov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ignacio is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ignacio looking for a guillotine here but Magomedov defends easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Magomedov blocks a head kick by Ignacio.
Ignacio is looking to land body kicks.
Ignacio misses with a head kick.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Magomedov closes the distance and pushes Ignacio back into the cage.
Magomedov content to slow the pace in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aly Magomedov dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Magomedov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ignacio - the referee stops the clock and Magomedov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ignacio. Magomedov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Ignacio keeps the fight on the outside.

Magomedov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ignacio uses from the top position.
Ignacio won't allow Magomedov to get back to his feet.
Ignacio stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Magomedov throws up his legs and catches Ignacio in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Ignacio tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Magomedov! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Aly Magomedov!
Aly Magomedov was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
