Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Gracie (ranked 22069 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Markov (ranked 3670 p4p, 0 weight class). Markov has chosen Blackway & Black Caviar - What's Up Danger as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Mateus Gracie will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gracie has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Markov uses from the top position.

Markov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gracie can pounce on him.
Markov has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mateus Gracie will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
