PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vince Vine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Promos Veiwus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vine closes the distance and clinches up with Veiwus, looking for a takedown. Vine pushes Veiwus against the cage but Veiwus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vine throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veiwus's waist but Veiwus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vine off to one side.
Veiwus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vine shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Veiwus pinned against the cage. Veiwus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Vine. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Veiwus counters with a left and a right that stings Vine.
Veiwus shoots for a double leg takedown but Vine sprawls well. He's pushed Veiwus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Veiwus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vine's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Veiwus lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Vine is looking to improve his position but Veiwus isn't that keen on the idea.

Veiwus breaks from Vine's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Veiwus is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Vine is pressing down on Veiwus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Veiwus is holding on for now.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vine connects with a nice short shot to Veiwus's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Veiwus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vine is working away from the top position though.
