Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilpo Pallero (ranked 4527 p4p, 455 weight class) and Krisko Kurtev (ranked 23402 p4p, 587 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Krisko Kurtev enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ilpo Pallero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Krisko Kurtev!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kurtev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pallero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kurtev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kurtev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Pallero lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pallero postures up.
Pallero passes Kurtev's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pallero is thwarting Kurtev's attempts to control the position.
Pallero stops Kurtev from getting back to his feet.
Kurtev has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Pallero wants to work for an arm triangle but Kurtev is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Pallero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kurtev is trying to control but can't.
Pallero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kurtev is refusing to be controlled, as Pallero sits in half guard.

Pallero is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kurtev is just riding it out for now. Pallero eventually gives up the hold.
Kurtev is looking for a sweep. Pallero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kurtev tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Pallero seems to be looking for submissions.
Kurtev flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kurtev looks like he's trying to stand up.

Kurtev is trying to get back to full guard.
Kurtev wants to control but Pallero is keeping busy.
Kurtev is doing well to control the position and prevent Pallero from advancing to side control.
Kurtev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kurtev works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kurtev throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kurtev lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Kurtev tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kurtev can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pallero looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kurtev with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kurtev wants to control but Pallero is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pallero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kurtev tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ilpo Pallero dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kurtev gets a takedown into half guard.
Pallero on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Pallero makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pallero.
Pallero seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Kurtev controls from within his opponent's guard.

Pallero is looking for a triangle but Kurtev pushes his legs off easily.

Pallero looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kurtev has picked Pallero up and slammed him! Pallero can't keep hold of the triangle and Kurtev manages to pass to side control!
Kurtev lands a decent elbow from side control.


Pallero is rocked!


It looks like Ilpo Pallero has been cut.
Kurtev cracks Pallero with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Kurtev immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Pallero is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Kurtev!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Krisko Kurtev!
A very excited looking Krisko Kurtev made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
