Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Urubu Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jericho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urubu Rei could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chris Jericho's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Urubu Rei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jericho!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jericho ducks under a wild hook from Rei.

Rei bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jericho is trying to escape the position but Rei is controlling the position.
Rei wants to stand but Jericho is controlling his arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jericho manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rei's best efforts.
Jericho is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Rei controlling the pace.
Jericho is looking to improve his position.

Jericho flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rei throws a nice looking combination but Jericho bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed right hand from Rei misses the target.
Jericho ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rei shoots for a double leg takedown but Jericho sprawls well. He's pushed Rei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jericho is looking to clinch.

Rei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rei bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jericho's head.
Urubu Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rei jumps guard but Jericho stands there with Rei around his waist. Rei gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Rei has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jericho clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rei just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urubu Rei dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rei shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jericho's guard.
Rei's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Jericho can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rei controls the pace.
Rei's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rei misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jericho seems a little lost for a moment, as Rei dominates the positioning.
Jericho wants to control but Rei postures up.
The referee asks Rei politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rei prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rei decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rei throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jericho's waist but Jericho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rei off to one side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rei changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jericho looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urubu Rei dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Rei closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rei lands in his opponent's guard.
