The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt motions for Vale to come forward. Hunt throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Vale throws a looping overhand right but Hunt ducks down to avoid it.

Hunt wants to control from the top but Vale keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hunt advances to half guard.
Hunt is stalling here. Vale is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hunt seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vale has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Hunt is not content to let Vale control the position.

Vale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunt keeps working.
Vale fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Vale here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Vale lands a nice hook to Hunt's body. Hunt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Vale is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hunt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vale doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vale manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Simon Vale opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
