The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dio moves into the clinch successfully.

Dio pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dio throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dio works over Van Cleefe's head and body with a nice combination.
Van Cleefe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dio lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dio moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Lee Van Cleefe has been cut.

Van Cleefe tries to sprawl but Dio drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Van Cleefe is trying to control but can't.

It looks like Dio might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Dio looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
