The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pascal walks into a left hand.

Pascal moves into range and clinches up with Loveridge.
Pascal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Loveridge's efforts to push away.
Loveridge throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Pascal tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Loveridge avoids it.
Pascal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Loveridge walks away with a smile on his face. Pascal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pascal.
Pascal's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Loveridge connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pascal scrambles back to his feet.
Loveridge lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drummond Pascal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pascal ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Loveridge takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Loveridge fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pascal manages to avoid it.

Pascal shoots in for a double leg but Loveridge sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Loveridge throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pascal on the side of the head.
