Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jamey Roy (ranked 5835 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Albright (ranked 4863 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamey Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendall Albright!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albright blocks a leg kick.
Roy throws a sloppy head kick and Albright moves out of range easily.
Roy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Albright lands a jab to the head.

Albright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Albright seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Albright remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Roy has one of Albright's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roy wants to control but Albright postures up.
Albright sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Roy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
I wouldn't like to be where Roy is right now.
Albright tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
You can see the frustration on Roy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Roy tries to buck Albright off but Albright is having none of it.
Roy is trying to control Albright's posture but Albright avoids it.
Roy is looking to get back to his feet here but Albright is keeping cool and he's managed to take Roy's back.

Roy is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Roy postures up in Albright's guard and throws a big left but Albright blocks it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Albright knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Roy swings around for an armbar but Albright sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Roy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Roy holds on and takes a little breather.

Albright might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Roy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Roy is looking to stand up but Albright isn't so interested in that idea.

Albright closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Roy did well to prevent Albright getting side control.
Albright has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Albright wants to free his trapped foot but Roy is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kendall Albright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A head kick from Albright lands but Roy takes it in his stride.


It looks like Jamey Roy has been cut.
Roy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Albright stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Albright shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roy's guard.
Roy has Albright pulled in close to control his posture.
Albright must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Roy misses with the combination.
Albright doesn't manage to clinch there - Roy circles away.
Roy is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Albright scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Roy doesn't seem bothered though.
Roy avoids the head kick by Albright.

Albright throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Roy was covering up waiting for the punch and Albright finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Roy has Albright pulled in close to control his posture.
Roy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Albright stops Roy from standing up.
Albright wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving.
Albright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Roy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kendall Albright has got the better of the ground game so far.
Albright is looking to improve his position.

Roy wants to work for an arm triangle but Albright is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Albright is looking to control Roy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Albright avoid being mounted?

Albright wants to get back to full guard.

Roy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Roy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Albright manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Roy has gone for a leg lock! Albright slips out almost immediately though and dives into Roy's guard.

Albright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Albright tries to free his leg and advance position but Roy is retaining full guard.

Kendall Albright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Albright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
