Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Bond (ranked 23935 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Star (ranked 24078 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond tries to close the distance and clinch but Star swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Star tries a head kick but it misses.
Bond misses with a kick to the body.
Bond pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Star throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Star has managed to clinch.

Star escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bond moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Rusty Bond has been cut.

Star shoots for a double leg takedown but Bond sprawls well. He's pushed Star's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Star tries to keep at a distance but Bond has taken the fight into the clinch.
Star has had enough of the clinch but Bond keeps him there for the moment.
Star jumps guard but Bond turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Bond is trying to trip Star. He has hold of a leg but Star is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bond persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bond keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Star's head.

Star is working an open guard so Bond takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Rusty Bond will probably get the nod.

Bond has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Star tries to counter with a clinch but Bond shakes him off and moves away.
Star shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bond as he avoids it easily.

Bond ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bond no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Bond has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Star has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Star has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bond uses from the top position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Star throws a powerful right kick. Bond tried to block low but the kick was high! Bond was taken right off of his feet! Star jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
