PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William O Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daley's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I can't Dance-Phil Collins. William O Leary will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William O Leary!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daley moves into the clinch successfully.
A short body shot lands from O Leary as the two fighters clinch.
O Leary lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.


It looks like Trevor Daley has been cut.
O Leary throws a punch but it's blocked by Daley.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from O Leary.
Daley is working for takedown but O Leary is calmly controlling the position for now.
O Leary prevents a takedown attempt there.
O Leary scores with a nice hook to the head.

O Leary's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Daley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from O Leary.
Daley moves out of range of the strikes.
O Leary drops Daley with a big left hand and mounts him. Daley is in big trouble!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daley is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

O Leary tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Daley's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Daley is breathing heavily.
Daley tries to reverse the position but O Leary maintains control.
Daley trying desperately to get to his feet.
Daley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Daley is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
O Leary controlling from mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Daley's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
O Leary is landing with some decent strikes but Daley is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
O Leary unloading with bombs!
O Leary pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
O Leary takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Daley wants to control but O Leary is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as O Leary holds on and takes a little breather.

O Leary really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Daley is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but O Leary still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, O Leary has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

I would just about give that final round to William O Leary.
