Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mehmed Tasdemir (ranked 2937 p4p, 324 weight class) and Lee Lyons (ranked 2182 p4p, 254 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tasdemir clinches up against the cage.

Lyons breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tasdemir tries to clinch but Lyons moves out of range.
Lyons shoots for a double leg takedown but Tasdemir sprawls well. He's pushed Lyons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Tasdemir forces Lyons back against the cage and clinches.
Lyons is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tasdemir prevents the takedown attempt.
Tasdemir misses with the head strike.
Tasdemir prevents Lyons from breaking the clinch.
Tasdemir lands with a left to the head.
Lyons's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lyons blocks an uppercut.
Tasdemir gets through Lyons's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Lyons breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lyons closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tasdemir's guard.

Tasdemir is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Lyons is trying to force a seperation but Tasdemir has the dominant position.

Tasdemir throws a punch but it's blocked by Lyons.

Mehmed Tasdemir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Lyons.
Tasdemir makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Lyons wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tasdemir has him pressed against the cage.

Lyons wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tasdemir swings wildly with an uppercut but Lyons uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lyons wants to break free but Tasdemir has control.
Tasdemir makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Tasdemir throws a head punch that misses.

Lyons manages to break the clinch.
Tasdemir tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lyons paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lyons tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tasdemir sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lyons somewhat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tasdemir wants to clinch up but Lyons keeps it at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lyons.

Tasdemir drives through and clinches with Lyons against the cage.
Tasdemir lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Tasdemir lands with a light punch inside.

Lyons is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tasdemir can't fight it off and eventually Lyons manages to take the fight to the floor. Tasdemir looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lyons prevents Tasdemir from getting back to his feet.
Lyons scoring with punches to the head and body.
Lyons content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lyons won't allow Tasdemir to get back to his feet.
Lyons must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Tasdemir has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Lyons is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

A frustrated look appears on Lyons's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Tasdemir makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Lyons wants to get back to striking at distance but Tasdemir won't allow it.
Lyons is trying to drag Tasdemir to the mat but Tasdemir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Lyons has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tasdemir is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tasdemir lands an uppercut.

Lyons is rocked!
Tasdemir misses with a short punch on the inside.
Tasdemir dips a shoulder and cracks Lyons with a mighty uppercut! Lyons falls back against the cage and Tasdemir unloads with a barrage of strikes! Lyons is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Tasdemir screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mehmed Tasdemir!
Mehmed Tasdemir decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
