Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Horowich!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, OJ Pines!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pines stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Horowich shoots in for a double leg but Pines sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Horowich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pines as he jumps to the side.
Pines drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Horowich defends it well.
Horowich avoids the body shot from Pines.

Pines fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Horowich sprawls well initially but Pines persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Pines seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Horowich does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Horowich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pines is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pines is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Horowich has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pines wants to take a breather but Horowich is having none of it.
Pines slips a nice elbow through Horowich's hands, connecting with Horowich's forehead.

Pines drops an elbow to the side of Horowich's head.

Pines is keen to just control but Horowich is a slippery customer.
Horowich is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pines scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Horowich has hold of Pines's hands but Pines slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pines winds up and cracks Horowich with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Pines has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Horowich regains half guard.

Pines is looking for a kimura here.

Pines seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pines working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Horowich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pines pulls his head out easily.

Horowich has hold of Pines's hands but Pines slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OJ Pines dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Pines closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Horowich! Pines dives in looking to finish! Horowich is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). OJ Pines!
OJ Pines is the new middleweight champion!
OJ Pines was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
