The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez gets the takedown into side control.
Parazinho tries to bench press Alvarez off him but Alvarez keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarez swings around for an armbar but Parazinho sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alvarez's guard.

Alvarez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Parazinho escapes and throws Alvarez's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Alvarez seems a little lost for a moment, as Parazinho dominates the positioning.
Parazinho wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alvarez, who protects the arm well.
