PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Stockhold (ranked 6091 p4p, 178 weight class) and Tank Ibbot (ranked 3249 p4p, 30 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stockhold scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ibbot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stockhold moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Stockhold tries for a takedown but Ibbot sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ibbot defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stockhold.
Ibbot tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Stockhold manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Ibbot .
Ibbot connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Ibbot tries to close the distance and clinch but Stockhold swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Stockhold tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ibbot swivels and escapes.
As Stockhold backs off Ibbot throws a huge counter combo but Stockhold manages to avoid it all.

Stockhold tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ibbot defends well and Stockhold ends up having to push Ibbot into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ibbot tries to stall but Stockhold uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Ibbot breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stockhold fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ibbot to the ground. Stockhold is now in Ibbot 's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stockhold looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Stockhold decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Stockhold chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ibbot can pounce on him.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Stockhold gets a double leg takedown into Ibbot 's guard.

Ibbot pushes Stockhold off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Stockhold fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ibbot avoids it really well and circles away.

Ibbot moves into the clinch successfully.

Ibbot defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stockhold.
Stockhold throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ibbot 's waist but Ibbot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stockhold off to one side.

Brock Stockhold is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stockhold shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tank Ibbot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stockhold is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Stockhold throws a strike but Ibbot rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Ibbot has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stockhold is proving hard to escape from.

Stockhold is working an open guard so Ibbot takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Stockhold goes for a double leg but Ibbot avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Ibbot continues to drive forward.

Ibbot moves out of range as Stockhold strikes.

Ibbot clinches up with Stockhold and pushes him back against the ropes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stockhold has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ibbot regains guard immediately.
Stockhold wants to control from the top but Ibbot keeps moving.
Stockhold looking to sit in guard and control but Ibbot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ibbot wants to stand but Stockhold is controlling his posture from full guard.

Stockhold is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well Ibbot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tank Ibbot decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
