Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jax Dempsey (ranked 4824 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jasper Ghost (ranked 3765 p4p, 0 weight class). Jax Dempsey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dempsey forces Ghost back against the cage and clinches.
Ghost is trying to pull guard but Dempsey has him pressed against the cage.

Ghost drags the fight down to the ground.

Ghost is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dempsey trying to control but Ghost is working from the bottom.

Ghost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dempsey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ghost looking for a guillotine here but Dempsey defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ghost escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dempsey gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dempsey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ghost on the ground.

Ghost can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dempsey controls the pace.
Dempsey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ghost swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ghost had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dempsey defends it easily.

Ghost is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dempsey cracks Ghost with a solid left hand.
Ghost can't keep his opponent in guard - Dempsey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ghost has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dempsey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dempsey sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

I really don't envy Ghost right now.

That was a close round but I would say that Jax Dempsey will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dempsey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ghost swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dempsey shoots in for a double leg but Ghost sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dempsey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ghost is fending him off so far but Dempsey persists. Nope, Ghost circles away and we're back to standing.
Ghost drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dempsey defends it well.
Ghost shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dempsey defends it nicely.
Dempsey scores with the left hand. Ghost knows he should have avoided that one.

Ghost shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dempsey as he avoids it easily.
Dempsey is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ghost.

and Ghost counters with a single leg into guard. Dempsey didn't expect that.

Dempsey has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ghost is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Dempsey digs a right hand into Ghost's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ghost's gas tank.
Dempsey tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ghost smiles and moves away.
Dempsey leaves Ghost with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ghost is breathing heavily.
Dempsey tries to clinch there but Ghost circles away.
Dempsey shoots in looking for a takedown but Ghost manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dempsey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ghost tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dempsey smiles and moves away.
Ghost shoots in for a takedown but Dempsey shows good takedown defense.
Dempsey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dempsey tries to clinch up.
Ghost changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Dempsey dives in and grabs Ghost's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ghost pushes down on Dempsey's head and hops out.
Ghost tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Ghost counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ghost wants to work for an arm triangle but Dempsey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ghost is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dempsey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ghost.

Dempsey wants to control but Ghost is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Dempsey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ghost's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ghost's back!
Dempsey has the hooks in. Ghost is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Ghost is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dempsey gets his way!

Ghost has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Dempsey doesn't defend quickly enough and Ghost has managed to lock this one up! Can Dempsey escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ghost on a fantastic submission victory.

After the fight, Jasper Ghost was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
