Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Klatten Asser (ranked 3966 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Kassongo (ranked 3200 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Kassongo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asser looks to score with a jab to the body but Kassongo is just out of range.
Kassongo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Asser's waist but Asser gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kassongo off to one side.

Kassongo shoots in and gets a takedown into Asser's guard.
Kassongo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kassongo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Asser pushes Kassongo off and gets back to his feet.
Kassongo fails to land the takedown.
Kassongo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Asser slaps away a takedown attempt from Kassongo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Klatten Asser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Kassongo.

Kassongo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Asser is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Asser avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kassongo.
Kassongo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kassongo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Asser's head.
Asser is pressing down on Kassongo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Asser is breathing heavily.
Kassongo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kassongo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Oh Asser is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Asser has momentary wrist control but Kassongo slips an elbow through the middle.
Kassongo is working Asser over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Kassongo chips away with some ground and pound.
Kassongo arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Asser's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jackson Kassongo!
