Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otto Downs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones dives in and scores a takedown into Downs's guard.
Jones trying to control but Downs is working from the bottom.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Downs swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Downs pulls Jones in to control the position.
Jones chips away with some ground and pound.
Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones pushing down on Downs's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Downs defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Downs controlling the position.
Jones advances to half guard.
Downs is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Jones thows a huge punch but Downs dodges it nicely.
Downs is not content to let Jones control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Downs gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. Downs manages to retain guard.

Downs manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Jones looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jones gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Downs is keeping the position for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Downs wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Jones dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jones thows a huge punch but Downs dodges it nicely.
Jones scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Downs kicks off Jones and gets to his feet.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Downs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Downs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jones manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Downs has his hands clasped together but Jones extends and breaks Downs's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jones.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jon Jones!
