PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Illegal Immigrant (ranked 3536 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Page (ranked 5961 p4p, 0 weight class). Immigrant comes to the cage accompanied by Immigrant Song. Michael Page told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Illegal Immigrant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michael Page!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page wants to clinch but Immigrant slips to the side
and Immigrant counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Immigrant fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Michael Page has been cut.
Page shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Immigrant but Immigrant pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Page swinging wildly here.
Immigrant displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Page.
Immigrant misses the shot to the body.
Immigrant throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Immigrant moves out of range of the leg kick from Page.
Page drops his hands momentarily and Immigrant takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Immigrant looks to score with a jab to the body but Page is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Immigrant scores with a decent looking hook.
Immigrant bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Page's head backwards.
Immigrant throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Page stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Page ducks right into an uppercut from Immigrant.
Immigrant scores with a shot to the body.
Page throws a sloppy head kick
and Immigrant counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.

and Immigrant counters with a right hand to the body.
Page takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Page takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Immigrant scores with a jab to the head.
Immigrant bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Page's head backwards.
Page takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Page is rocked!
Immigrant swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Page.
Page is still on wobbly legs! Can Immigrant finish him?

That has opened up Michael Page's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Immigrant lands a nice looking body shot.
Page seems to have recovered his senses.
Page takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Immigrant cracks a nice hook into Page's ribs.
Page takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Page takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Immigrant drops Page with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Page looks back up at him and smiles so Immigrant waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Immigrant closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Page! Immigrant dives in looking to finish! Page is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Illegal Immigrant!
A relieved looking Illegal Immigrant thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
