And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 18 - 2, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bangsit shoots in for a double leg but DeSilva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
DeSilva throws a lazy body kick

and Bangsit counters with a nice double leg into side control. DeSilva won't be happy with that.
Bangsit is trying to ground and pound but DeSilva uses the momentary lack of control by Bangsit to regain half guard.
DeSilva is looking for a sweep. Bangsit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bangsit is looking for a kimura here.
DeSilva has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

DeSilva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
DeSilva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
DeSilva feints and then cracks Bangsit's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bangsit down.

DeSilva tries to land a front kick but Bangsit steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bangsit fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but DeSilva avoids it really well and circles away.
DeSilva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bangsit moves away.

DeSilva goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Bangsit shoots in looking for a takedown. DeSilva tries to sprawl out of it but Bangsit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. DeSilva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DeSilva tries a head kick but it misses.
A punch combination from DeSilva misses.
DeSilva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
DeSilva throws a leg kick which misses Bangsit's front leg but catches the back leg as Bangsit tries to avoid it.
DeSilva lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
DeSilva misses with a hook. Bangsit ducked under it nicely.
And Bangsit tries to counter it with a takedown but DeSilva pushes his down on his head and steps out.
DeSilva cracks Bangsit with an open hand slap.
DeSilva chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Antonio Mauricio DeSilva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bangsit has a takedown stuffed.
DeSilva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A bone on bone clash there as Bangsit blocks the leg kick.
Bangsit shoots in for a takedown but DeSilva shows good takedown defense.
DeSilva throws out a loose jab but Bangsit uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bangsit tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
DeSilva stuffs the takedown attempt from Bangsit. Bangsit gets slowly back to his feet.
DeSilva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Bangsit keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
DeSilva throws the kick towards the body but Bangsit avoids it.

Bangsit fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging DeSilva to the ground. Bangsit is now in DeSilva's guard.
DeSilva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bangsit can do to turn this around?

Bangsit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeSilva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
DeSilva wants to stand and escape but Bangsit is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

DeSilva has momentary wrist control but Bangsit slips an elbow through the middle.
Bangsit postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Bangsit is looking to work some ground and pound but DeSilva has wrist control.
Bangsit working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
DeSilva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bangsit is one step ahead there.
DeSilva can't keep his opponent in guard - Bangsit advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Bangsit is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! DeSilva is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
