The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Tiner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tiner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tiner on the ground.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Jones is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Tiner pulls his head out easily.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Tiner gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tiner counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
Tiner drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Tiner off! Tiner jumps back into Jones's guard.
Tiner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tiner looks gassed!
Jones wants to stand but Tiner is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tiner works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones is looking to escape.
Tiner moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that!
Jones is working to get back to half guard.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tiner is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Tiner is working for a guillotine from mount but Jones frees his head quite easily.
Jones has given up his back here. Will Tiner look for the submission or keep pounding away?
