The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Phillipart shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kadyrov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Phillipart postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Phillipart in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Phillipart looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kadyrov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kadyrov wants to get back to his feet.
Kadyrov on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kadyrov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kadyrov is pushing Phillipart's head away, looking to escape. Phillipart manages to hold on to the position though.

Kadyrov tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Kadyrov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Phillipart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
You get the feeling that Kadyrov really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Phillipart is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Kadyrov is forced to tap! Great finish!
