Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Warren Francis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimbo Kern!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kern missing with a left hand there. Francis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Kern throws a front kick aimed at Francis's knee but Francis avoids it well.

Francis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kern.
Francis attempts a counter takedown but Kern avoids it well and moves away.
Kern throws a series of punches but Francis avoids them all with ease.
Francis is looking to counter the offense by Kern and move into the clinch.
Francis shoots in looking for a takedown. Kern tries to sprawl out of it but Francis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kern manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Francis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kern manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Francis has Kern in his guard.

Warren Francis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kern stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Francis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Francis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kern manages to get himself to full guard.

Kern wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Francis is now in half guard.

Francis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kern defends it well.
