The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Glass rushes Rodrigez and presses him up against the cage.

and Glass counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Emanuel Rodrigez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rodrigez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Glass is just riding it out for now. Rodrigez eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigez is looking to work some ground and pound but Glass has wrist control.
Rodrigez stays in close to Glass's body and controls the position.
Rodrigez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rodrigez lands a decent elbow from side control.

Rodrigez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Glass's legs.

Rodrigez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Glass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodrigez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rodrigez is working to tighten his grip on Glass's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Glass has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rodrigez is really squeezing tight and eventually Glass passes out! Rodrigez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
