Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fartanov shoots in but no luck this time.
Fartanov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Baird defends it nicely.
As Fartanov looks to move away, Baird throws a big counter combo but Fartanov just gets out of the way.
Fartanov moves into range and clinches up with Baird.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baird misses with a punch to the body.
Baird breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Baird keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chung Baird has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zhorik Fartanov.

Fartanov lands a big head kick that sends Baird tumbling to the mat! Fartanov takes a step backwards and waves Baird back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Chung Baird has been cut.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fartanov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Fartanov is looking to stand up but Baird isn't so interested in that idea.

Baird tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fartanov manages to circle out of the way.

and Baird holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Baird tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fartanov just stands there and leans against the cage.
Baird misses with an elbow strike.
Fartanov digs a right hand into Baird's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Baird's gas tank.
Baird blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Fartanov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baird walks away with a smile on his face. Fartanov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Zhorik Fartanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fartanov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fartanov lands in his opponent's guard.

Baird striking off his back but it's not causing Fartanov any problems.
Baird is trying to keep Fartanov in close.
Baird is looking for a triangle but Fartanov pushes his legs off easily.
Fartanov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baird is looking to sweep but instead, Fartanov has passed into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Fartanov drives through and clinches with Baird against the cage.
Fartanov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fartanov shoots and misses
and Baird counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Fartanov throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Baird stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baird wants it to stay on the feet.
Fartanov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fartanov wants to get back to striking at distance but Baird won't allow it.
Fartanov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Baird uses from the top position.
Fartanov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baird doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baird manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fartanov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Baird should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fartanov has tightened it up now! Baird should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
