PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christian Neffgen (ranked 3267 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Page (ranked 24842 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Michael Page was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page throws a right hand that Neffgen ducks under and follows up with a left that Neffgen also avoids with ease.
Page has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Neffgen is landing a low percentage of strikes.
A combination from Page does no damage.

Neffgen has closed the distance and engaged Page in a clinch.

Neffgen drags the fight down to the ground.
Neffgen is pulling down on Page's head. It's preventing any offense from Page, at least for the moment.
Neffgen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Page postures up in Neffgen's guard and throws a big left but Neffgen blocks it.
Page looking to sit in guard and control but Neffgen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neffgen is in close to Page's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Page is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Neffgen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Neffgen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Page works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Neffgen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Page has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Neffgen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Page has tightened it up now! Neffgen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
