Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Boris Volkonof!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joseph Benevidez!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benevidez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volkonof tries to avoid it but Benevidez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volkonof to the ground. Volkonof escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It appears Volkonof was looking to counter with a kick there.

Horrible takedown attempt by Benevidez or perhaps it was just good defense by Volkonof, which made it look bad.

Volkonof has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Benevidez has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Benevidez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Volkonof defends well and Benevidez ends up having to push Volkonof into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Volkonof throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Benevidez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Benevidez shoots in looking for a takedown but Volkonof manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Benevidez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Volkonof is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Benevidez can do to turn this around?

Benevidez is trying to push Volkonof away but Volkonof has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Benevidez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Volkonof uses from the top position.

Volkonof is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Benevidez is trying to escape and Volkonof transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Benevidez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Volkonof! Very nice indeed!

Boris Volkonof really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that UnderGround Supplements logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
