PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Israel Hands (ranked 6567 p4p, 539 weight class) and Andrew Balderas (ranked 5778 p4p, 500 weight class). Hands comes into the arena with A Collection of Sea Shanties blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balderas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hands was well out of range. Poor timing from Balderas.
Hands lands a head kick!
Balderas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Balderas there as he acknowledges the shot.
Andrew Balderas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Balderas misses with a double jab
and Hands counters with a nice uppercut.
Balderas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hands counters with a nice uppercut.
Balderas misses the jab.
Hands ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hands lands a nice hook to Balderas's body. Balderas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Balderas looks to land a combination but Hands avoids it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hands is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hands looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Balderas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Balderas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hands lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab from Hands does it's job there.
Hands keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Balderas.
Balderas wants to stay close but Hands steps back to make room for something. Balderas seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Hands and Balderas drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
