Martin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Sparky Heyyyyyy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin cracks the inside of Heyyyyyy's front leg.

Martin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Martin.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Martin. Heyyyyyy shrugs it off though.

Heyyyyyy shoots in looking for a takedown but Martin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Heyyyyyy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Martin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Heyyyyyy can do to turn this around?

Heyyyyyy's coach down at Island Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Heyyyyyy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Heyyyyyy takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Martin takes the fight into the clinch.
Heyyyyyy's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Martin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Heyyyyyy shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense.
Martin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Heyyyyyy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Malakei Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Heyyyyyy misses with a takedown attempt - Martin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
