The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reznov darts in looking for a takedown but Smith gets double underhooks and turns Reznov into the cage.
Smith tries to counter by closing the distance.
Smith dives in and grabs Reznov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reznov pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

Reznov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reznov lands in his opponent's guard.
Reznov slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith manages to get to full guard.
Reznov stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reznov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reznov has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.
Reznov pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
