The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing reports that Burenkov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Burenkov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Padilla to the ground. Burenkov is now in Padilla's guard.

Padilla pushes Burenkov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Burenkov is looking to wear down Padilla with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Padilla drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Padilla tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Burenkov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Burenkov wants the takedown. Padilla is fighting it off but Burenkov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Padilla's guard against the cage.

Padilla tries to control Burenkov's body but Burenkov pushes him off. Padilla squirms to his side and now Burenkov has his back!

Padilla wants to control his opponent's hands but Burenkov gets his hands free.

Burenkov is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Padilla with him. Padilla is trying to defend but Burenkov has an arm under the chin now! Padilla grimaces and is forced to tap out!
