Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sean Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Melvin Marks!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marks misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Marks shoots in but no luck this time.

Marks moves into the clinch.

Marks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Foster showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Marks.
Foster shoots in but Marks avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Marks tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Foster.
Foster pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Marks.
Foster tried to counter with a leg kick but Marks avoided it.

Marks with a poor takedown
and Foster counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sean Foster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Melvin Marks.
Marks lands a nice looking body shot.
Marks shoots in for a takedown but Foster shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Marks looks to land a combination. Foster sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Sean Foster has been cut.
Foster stuffs the takedown attempt from Marks. Marks gets slowly back to his feet.
Foster seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Marks gets a double leg takedown into Foster's guard.
Foster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marks controls the pace.
Marks's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Foster tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Foster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Foster manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Marks has Foster in his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Foster stops Marks from standing up.

Marks looking for subs off his back but Foster has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marks is refusing to be controlled, as Foster sits in half guard.

Marks wants to get back to full guard.
Marks trying to hold on to Foster's head to control him but Foster postures up.
Foster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marks keeps working.
Marks is looking for a sweep. Foster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Foster is trying to control the action in half guard but Marks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Foster frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Foster trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Marks tries to hold on but Foster pushes him away.
Marks looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Foster looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Foster controlling well, preventing Marks from escaping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Marks is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Foster tightening his grip on Marks, looking for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sean Foster will probably get the nod.

That's time! Foster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Horrible takedown attempt by Marks or perhaps it was just good defense by Foster, which made it look bad.
Marks is trying hard to land a takedown here. Foster sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Foster half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Foster closes the distance and clinches up with Marks, looking for a takedown. Foster pushes Marks against the cage but Marks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Marks lands with a left to the head.
Marks is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Foster to keep the fight standing.

Marks throws a right hand that Foster ducks under and follows up with a left that Foster also avoids with ease.
Foster thinks about countering with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marks shoots in looking for a takedown but Foster manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marks's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Marks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Foster defends it nicely.
Marks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Foster pinned against the cage. Foster gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Foster counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Foster defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marks.
Foster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marks manages to avoid it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Foster is defended easily by Marks.
Sean Foster is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Foster tries for a takedown but Marks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Marks throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

It looked like Foster was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

No joy there for Marks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Foster shoots and misses
and Marks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Marks moves into the clinch.
Marks looking for a takedown.
Foster on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Marks is trying to pull guard but Foster has him pressed against the cage.

Foster jumps into guard, dragging Marks to the mat.
Marks is looking to stand up but Foster won't let him.
Marks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Foster bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Marks's guard.

Marks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Marks wants to improve his position but instead Foster has moved into half guard.
Marks tries to roll over but Foster keeps him under control.
Sean Foster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Marks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Foster pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Foster wants to stand up but Marks is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Melvin Marks will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marks tries to stand but Foster is controlling from the bottom.

Foster is looking for a triangle but Marks pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Marks content to stall in guard here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Marks wants to pass the guard but Foster is keeping the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Marks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Foster circles away.
Foster attempts a counter takedown but Marks avoids it well and moves away.

Foster leaves Marks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Foster looks to land a body kick but Marks moved away.

Marks clinches with his opponent.
Foster stops a takedown attempt from Marks.
Foster tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Marks just stands there and leans against the cage.

Marks breaks from the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Foster throws a sloppy head kick and Marks moves out of range easily.
Marks avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Marks drives through and clinches with Foster against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Melvin Marks comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Marks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
