Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sydney Thift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Asmodius Crowley!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thift with a hook.
Crowley on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Thift shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Crowley sprawls well. Crowley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thift gets slowly back to his feet.
Crowley doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Thift throws a jab when Crowley was well out of range.

and Crowley counters with a takedown into side control.
Thift's coaches at The Kegerator - 550$ have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

And Crowley tries to counter it with a takedown but Thift pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Thift swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Thift swings for the body but Crowley moves out of range.
Thift scores with a one two! Crowley had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Nice straight punches there by Thift. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Thift.

And Crowley tries to counter it with a takedown but Thift pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Thift uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Crowley.
Thift rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Crowley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thift lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

A slow jab from Thift misses its intended target.
Crowley uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thift.
Sydney Thift seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thift sizes up Crowley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Thift fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Crowley manages to avoid it.
Crowley is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Thift misses with the combination.
Crowley tries to counter by closing the distance.
Thift throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Crowley.
Thift turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Thift lands the left hand.
Crowley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Crowley throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thift on the side of the head.

Crowley shoots for a double leg takedown but Thift sprawls well. He's pushed Crowley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Thift thows a left - swing and a miss!
And Crowley tries to counter it with a takedown but Thift pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Thift throws a body shot but no joy.
Crowley walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice combination there by Thift.
Thift is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A jab from Thift misses.
Crowley is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Crowley keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Crowley misses with a looping right.
Thift scores with the left hand. Crowley knows he should have avoided that one.
Thift checks a leg kick.
Crowley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Thift works the jab nicely.
Thift fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sydney Thift dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Crowley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Crowley is still trying to improve position.
Thift remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Crowley is trying to buck Thift off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crowley takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.


Crowley is rocked!
Thift cracks Crowley with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Thift immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Crowley is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Thift!
