PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vinicius Dalpiccol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Raton Vaquero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dalpiccol comes into the arena with Rise Against - Injection blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalpiccol tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Vaquero closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dalpiccol wants to control but Vaquero postures up.

Vaquero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vaquero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vaquero remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Vaquero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dalpiccol knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Vaquero works to advance to full mount. Dalpiccol defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vaquero is looking for the choke from the back position but Dalpiccol is controlling his hands well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vaquero has the hooks in. Dalpiccol is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dalpiccol wants to control his opponent's hands but Vaquero gets his hands free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vaquero is riding his opponent, not letting Dalpiccol buck him off.

Vaquero is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dalpiccol is defending well though. Vaquero let's go of the attempt for now.

Vaquero is working for a rear naked choke. Dalpiccol is not defending it well and Vaquero has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Dalpiccol refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Dalpiccol's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
