Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey shoots for a double leg takedown but Holt sprawls well. He's pushed Dempsey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dempsey blocks the body kick.
Dempsey takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dempsey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Holt sprawls well. Holt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dempsey gets slowly back to his feet.
Dempsey scores with a jab. Holt acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It looks like Seymour Holt has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holt pushes Dempsey up against the cage in a clinch.
Holt is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dempsey is defending well.
Dempsey is trying to force a seperation but Holt has the dominant position.

Dempsey scores with a shot to the side of Holt's head.
Holt tries to pull guard but Dempsey forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Dempsey is pressed up against the cage. Holt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dempsey down to the mat. Dempsey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seymour Holt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Holt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dempsey is defending against the submission attempts here by Holt.
Holt stalling away here and it's allowed Dempsey to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Holt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dempsey has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Holt is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Dempsey breaks the clinch.

Holt dives in for a single leg takedown but Dempsey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dempsey is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dempsey scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Holt doesn't seem bothered though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Holt dives in and scores a takedown into Dempsey's guard.

Dempsey has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Holt off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Dempsey dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Holt is breathing heavily.
Dempsey tries to clinch up.

Dempsey has Holt up against the cage in a clinch.
Holt is looking for a takedown.
Dempsey has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Holt is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dempsey lands a right hand.
Holt fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dempsey is pushing Holt up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Dempsey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dempsey checks the leg kick.
Holt misses with a wild combination.
Jack Dempsey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dempsey misses with a few strikes there.
Dempsey throws a series of strikes that have Holt backpedaling.
Dempsey throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Dempsey.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Dempsey dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Seymour Holt's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dempsey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A combination from Dempsey does no damage.
Holt misses with a takedown attempt
and Dempsey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Dempsey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Holt.
Dempsey stuffs the takedown attempt from Holt. Holt gets slowly back to his feet.
Dempsey throws a right hand that Holt ducks under and follows up with a left that Holt also avoids with ease.
Dempsey cracks Holt with a right hand to the side of the head.

Holt is rocked!
Dempsey batters Holt with a massive right followed by a huge left! Holt is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Dempsey lands a final crushing right hand to drop Holt to the mat with a gruesome thud! Dempsey is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
