Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Newton Johnny (ranked 4470 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Trilly (ranked 4922 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Newton Johnny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Logan Trilly!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trilly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnny scores with a hook.
Johnny lands a nice hook to Trilly's body. Trilly takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Trilly with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnny to score with a decent uppercut.

Trilly has closed the distance and engaged Johnny in a clinch.

Trilly is trying to trip Johnny. He has hold of a leg but Johnny is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Trilly persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Trilly slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Trilly trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnny wants to get back to full guard but Trilly has passed into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trilly scores with punches from side control.
Johnny is looking for a sweep.
Trilly is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Johnny will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Johnny sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Trilly wants to get back to his feet.

Trilly keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnny won't allow Trilly to pass to mount.

Trilly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Trilly drops an elbow to the side of Johnny's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Trilly connects with a nice short shot to Johnny's temple.
Trilly lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnny is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trilly's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trilly's back!

A close round but Logan Trilly will probably get the nod.

Johnny had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trilly defends it easily.
Johnny controls Trilly momentarily but Trilly frees himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trilly looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Johnny is trying to get back to full guard.
Trilly is thwarting Johnny's attempts to control the position.

Johnny is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Trilly pulls his head out easily.
Trilly has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Johnny has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Trilly is working away from the top position though.
Johnny is looking for a sweep. Trilly is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Trilly content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Trilly has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Carlos Newton Johnny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnny misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trilly tries to stand but Johnny is controlling his head.
Johnny tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Johnny is looking to improve his position but Trilly isn't that keen on the idea.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trilly landing punches.

Trilly winds up and cracks Johnny with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Trilly in particular looking to stall.
Trilly wants to stand up but Johnny is controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Trilly is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Logan Trilly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Johnny quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Trilly has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Johnny celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
