These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

We've been informed that Rio has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Rio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kusano throws out the jab.

Rio lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kusano throws a looping overhand right but Rio ducks down to avoid it.
Rio wants to counter the offense by Kusano and move into the clinch position.

Rio lands a big right hand that sends Kusano crashing to the mat! Rio stays standing though and waves Kusano back to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rio is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kusano flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kusano is out cold! Rio holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
