Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Shadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phal Um (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Shadows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phal Um!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadows misses with an uppercut.
Um looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Um thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Um trying to control the action but Shadows is working from the bottom.
Shadows wants to get back to his feet.
Um moves into full mount! Shadows won't be happy about that!
Shadows is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Shadows tries to buck Um off but he can't manage it.
Um lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Um throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shadows because Um loaded up on that one.
Um throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Um misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Shadows wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Um.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Um punishing his opponent with strikes.
Um lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Shadows really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Shadows can't escape the position.

Um controlling the pace for now.
Shadows really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Um wants to control the pace but Shadows is squirming around nicely.

Um looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Um thows a huge punch but Shadows dodges it nicely.
Um tries to pass to full mount but Shadows defends it.
Um takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Shadows wants to get back to his feet.
Um wants to take a breather but Shadows is having none of it.
Um missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Um has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Um is taking a breather. Shadows says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shadows is looking for a sweep. Um is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Um slows the pace down in half guard.
Shadows is refusing to be controlled, as Um sits in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shadows has hold of Um's hands but Um slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phal Um dominated that round.
That's time! Shadows's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Shadows lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Um backs up against the cage.
Shadows avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shadows throws out a powerful jab.
Max Shadows is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Um closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Um looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shadows throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Left hook, right uppercut from Shadows.
Um slips under a jab from Shadows.
Um keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Um throws a body punch but Shadows moves out of range.
Um uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shadows.
Shadows tries to bum rush Um with a series of wild strikes but Um uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Shadows cracks a nice hook into Um's ribs.
A telegraphed right hand from Shadows misses the target.
Um closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Um prevents Shadows from improving his position.
Um takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Um's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Um looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Um scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Shadows trying to hold on to Um's head to control him but Um postures up.
Um thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shadows's head.

Shadows wants to control but Um is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Um looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shadows is looking to control Um's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shadows avoid being mounted?
Shadows regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Um.
Um looking to sit in guard and control but Shadows gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Um is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Um keeping moving, preventing Shadows from controlling successfully.
Um looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Um has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Um not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shadows stands up from guard. Let's bang!

A close second round but Phal Um will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Um uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shadows.
Um throws a hook to the side of Shadows's head but Shadows sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Um counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Um fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shadows sprawls well initially but Um persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Um seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Shadows manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Um counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Um trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Um trying to control the position from guard on top but Shadows is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Um sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shadows's guard.
Shadows regains full guard. Nicely done.
Phal Um has got the better of the ground game so far.
Um trying to control but Shadows is working from the bottom.
Um stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shadows swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Max Shadows has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Phal Um is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Um is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Um in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Shadows avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Um is stalling in the full guard.
Shadows pushes Um off and gets back to his feet.
Shadows misses with a body punch
and Um counters with a takedown into side control.
Um connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Shadows some visible discomfort.
And that's the end of the fight!
Phal Um comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Um winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
