The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalkivicio scores with a kick to the midsection.

Jone rushes Kowalkivicio and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jone pushes off an throws an elbow but Kowalkivicio leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Kowalkivicio displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jone up against the cage.
Jone lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Kurtski Kowalkivicio has been cut.
Kowalkivicio can't find room to land a body shot as Jone controls the action.
Jone throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jone has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kowalkivicio after a bit of a struggle.

Jone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jone has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kowalkivicio is proving hard to escape from.

Jone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kowalkivicio throws a series of punches but Jone avoids them all with ease.

Kowalkivicio blocks an elbow strike from Jone.

Jone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kowalkivicio slaps away a takedown attempt from Jone, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jone is defended easily by Kowalkivicio.
Kurtski Kowalkivicio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sken Jone.

Kowalkivicio is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jone to keep the fight standing.
Come on Jone - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Kowalkivicio wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Jone.
Jone gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Kowalkivicio tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kowalkivicio fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jone to the ground. Kowalkivicio is now in Jone's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jone is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Kowalkivicio takes an elbow to the temple.

Jone is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kowalkivicio is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jone to the mat. Jone regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kowalkivicio just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jone's brow.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kowalkivicio wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sken Jone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
