Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Goodridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rory Rothstein!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rothstein decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Goodridge scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rothstein manages to mount him!
Rothstein tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rothstein prevents Goodridge from getting the reversal.
Rothstein is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rothstein with shots to the head and body - Goodridge looks very uncomfortable down there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rothstein content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rothstein has hold of Goodridge's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Goodridge manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Goodridge is looking to improve his position but Rothstein isn't that keen on the idea.
Rothstein has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Goodridge is in a horrible position here. Rothstein smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You get the feeling that Goodridge really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Rothstein has control of Goodridge's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Goodridge regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rothstein is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rothstein extends the arm and Goodridge is forced to tap!
