The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valkama looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jeffson misses with a double jab.

Valkama drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Valkama cracks Jeffson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Valkama avoids the attempt from Jeffson to control.
Valkama has control of Jeffson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jeffson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Jeffson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Valkama goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jeffson turns into him and now he's in Valkama's guard.

Valkama will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Valkama has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Valkama wants to finish this one by submission but Jeffson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Valkama.
Poor strikes thrown by Valkama there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Valkama is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jeffson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jeffson!

Jeffson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Valkama has his foot on Jeffson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jeffson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jeffson throws a sloppy head kick and Valkama moves out of range easily.

Valkama shoots in for a double leg but Jeffson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Valkama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jeffson is sitting in close to Valkama's body. Valkama has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jeffson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jeffson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Valkama.
