Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harlen Houston (ranked 4533 p4p, 0 weight class) and Botros Martinus (ranked 4744 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houston avoids a kick to the body.
Houston doesn't manage to clinch there - Martinus circles away.
Houston misses with a combination

and Martinus counters with a shoot takedown. Houston fights it but they end up in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Martinus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Houston's guard.
Houston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martinus is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Martinus extends the arm and Houston is forced to tap!
