PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lieutenant Rolfsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonis Papageorgiou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Papageorgiou has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rolfsson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Papageorgiou looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Rolfsson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Rolfsson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Papageorgiou avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Papageorgiou throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rolfsson blocks it with crossed arms.

Horrible takedown by Papageorgiou or perhaps it was just good defense by Rolfsson which made him look bad.

Papageorgiou feints and as Rolfsson raises his hands in defense, Papageorgiou changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rolfsson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Papageorgiou doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Papageorgiou manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rolfsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Papageorgiou's guard.

Papageorgiou working for a triangle but Rolfsson defends it easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rolfsson distracts Papageorgiou with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Rolfsson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rolfsson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Papageorgiou on the side of the head.

and Rolfsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rolfsson looks to land a combination but Papageorgiou avoids it well.

Papageorgiou is rocked!

Rolfsson clinches up with Papageorgiou and pushes him back against the cage.
Papageorgiou is still on wobbly legs! Can Rolfsson finish him?
With the fighters up against the cage, Rolfsson throws an elbow but misses.

Rolfsson breaks the clinch.
Papageorgiou seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rolfsson drives through and clinches with Papageorgiou against the cage.
Rolfsson is working for takedown but Papageorgiou is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rolfsson jumps into guard, dragging Papageorgiou to the mat.

Rolfsson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Papageorgiou is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rolfsson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Papageorgiou's back instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
