The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fixit has his takedown stuffed

and Bronstein counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fixit has hold of Bronstein's hands but Bronstein slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looks like Jim Fixit has been cut.
Bronstein takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bronstein takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bronstein scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Bronstein drops an elbow to the side of Fixit's head.

Jim Fixit's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jim Fixit's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After the fight, Lev Davidovitch Bronstein was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
