The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baba swings for the body but Briggs moves out of range.
Briggs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Baba.

Baba pushes Briggs up against the cage in a clinch.
Briggs is looking to take this one to the mat.
Baba prevents a takedown attempt there.
Baba is leaning against Briggs and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Baba pushes Briggs back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Baba lands a nice shot to the body.
Briggs looks winded!

Briggs is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Baba to keep the fight standing.
Thomas Baba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyle Briggs.
Baba lands a left hand that snaps the head of Briggs backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Briggs is trying to pull guard but Baba turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Baba lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Baba lands a body punch.
Baba lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Briggs backwards.
Baba lands with a right to the head.
Baba gets through Briggs's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Briggs is rocked!
Baba creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Briggs with a big uppercut! Briggs tries to clinch up but Baba pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Briggs to the mat! Briggs covers up and Baba unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
