Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Ubercutt (ranked 19062 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valentin Hadjiev (ranked 5129 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentin Hadjiev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Valentin Hadjiev!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Darius Henderson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Hadjiev or perhaps it was just good defense by Ubercutt, which made it look bad.
Hadjiev has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hadjiev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hadjiev defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ubercutt.

Hadjiev gets the takedown into side control.
Ubercutt is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hadjiev working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Hadjiev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ubercutt has escaped the position, nice work there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ubercutt manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Hadjiev drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ubercutt pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ubercutt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hadjiev but Hadjiev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ubercutt closes the distance and clinches up with Hadjiev, looking for a takedown. Ubercutt pushes Hadjiev against the cage but Hadjiev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ubercutt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hadjiev's waist but Hadjiev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ubercutt off to one side.

Hadjiev shoots in looking for a takedown. Ubercutt tries to sprawl out of it but Hadjiev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ubercutt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hadjiev is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ubercutt shoots in for a double leg but Hadjiev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A close round but Valentin Hadjiev will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hadjiev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ubercutt avoids it really well and circles away.
Ubercutt is looking to counter the offense by Hadjiev and move into the clinch.

Ubercutt darts in and clinches Hadjiev up against the cage.
Ubercutt jumps guard but Hadjiev turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hadjiev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ubercutt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hadjiev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ubercutt throws some wild stikes that Hadjiev manages to avoid easily.
Ubercutt tries to control but Hadjiev wriggling away.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ubercutt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Ubercutt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hadjiev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hadjiev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ubercutt defends well and Hadjiev ends up having to push Ubercutt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hadjiev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ubercutt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hadjiev has Ubercutt in his guard.

Hadjiev lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Ubercutt is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ubercutt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ubercutt shoots in but Hadjiev avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Valentin Hadjiev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hadjiev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
