Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Smith lands.
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith jabs at Sanchez's body.
Smith scores with a body shot.
Smith scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Sanchez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ryan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith connects with a right hand. Sanchez shakes it off.
Smith cracks Sanchez with a good jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sanchez cracks Smith with a right hand to the side of the head.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith pushes Sanchez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Sanchez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sanchez can't get the takedown.
Smith prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith works on Sanchez's body with a couple of short punches.
Sanchez is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanchez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Smith to keep the fight standing.

Smith manages to break the clinch.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.

Smith dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Sanchez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smith has him pressed against the cage.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Al Sanchez has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Sanchez is rocked!

Sanchez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Oh Sanchez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith misses with some punches.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith digs a good hook to Sanchez's body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanchez is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Smith just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Sanchez has gone limp and this one is over!
