The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Northwood moves into the clinch.
Aljandro is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Northwood pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Aljandro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Northwood pulls Aljandro into guard.

Aljandro drops back looking for a leg! Northwood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Northwood manages to kick Aljandro off! Aljandro jumps back into Northwood's guard.

Aljandro postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Northwood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aljandro, into his guard.

Northwood controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Northwood trying to control the position from guard on top but Aljandro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Northwood looking to improve position, pressing down on Aljandro's thigh with his hand. Aljandro seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Northwood paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Northwood's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Aljandro picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
