The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBride thuds a left hand into Penncil's body.
Penncil does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Penncil swats away the attempt to clinch by McBride.
Penncil keeps the fight on the outside.
Penncil throws a right and a left that both miss.
Penncil throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McBride.
McBride shoots in for a double leg but Penncil sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
McBride misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Penncil throws a lazy right hand but McBride sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and McBride counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McBride lands a nice short elbow.

McBride seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Penncil does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penncil gets full guard.

McBride avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Penncil is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but McBride frees his head nicely. Oh but Penncil has switched to an armbar! McBride is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
